lately i've been feeling like my soul has been undergoing changes-for the better.
not only has there been alot of changes on the inside, but also on the outside.
one of the first and probably most major internal change has been my decision to officially become a vegetarian. i've been contemplating the idea of it for a while now (at least three months) and don't worry, i've done my research and read plenty about the lifestyle before making the switch. i made this choice about a week and a half ago and so far it's been really good. i've haven't run into any issues and my craving for chicken stopped after the first couple days. my end goal is to eventually become vegan, but i think it's definitely gonna be a little while before i can make that huge of a commitment. i've always been one who's been against animal cruelty and the like, but i always just thought it would be to hard to become a vegetarian in my household especially since everyone is a HUGE carnivore. i finally talked to my mom about it and the different/alternative meals i would be eating and she said she would support me with my decision. that was so good for me to hear, and although my brother has given me a hard time about my choice i can safely say that this is going to be a great lifestyle for me. i will probably make a complete blog post about becoming vegetarian after i've had more experience with it, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact me through the comments or the contact moi page!
the next few topics are a definitely less major than the previous one, but i felt like sharing them so here goes! i've been feeling alot more carefree and happy these past months...maybe because of the warm weather, maybe because i'm in a really great place with my friends, or maybe just because i decided that they would be. i've struggled with anxiety (general, social, travel) for almost 5 years now and i am extremely excited to say that i've gotten alot better. this time last year i was having attacks almost every morning before school and even at school i would shut myself off because it was just easier to deal with it that way. this school year i decided anxiety wasn't going to rule my world and it was as simple as that. once i emotionally made that decision i felt alot better. i know your probably thinking "it's not that easy", and i first hand know that it's more complicated than that. but trust me, once you consciously tell you self "i'm not going to let this ruin me anymore, this is my life and i'm going to live it to the fullest" you really can. i recommend downloading and listening to (or reading) mod sun's book did i ever wake up. it's five parts and you can download it from his album look up or just buy the book. i personally prefer listening to it, but hey whatever works for you.
for some more even less important changes i just thought i'd share with you...
if you've been reading my blog for a while now (i don't even know if anyone reads it consistently haha) then you would have noticed i changed the banner at the top of my page. it used to be a picture i took 2 summers ago from the top of the rock in new york city, but i thought this care free picture of me driving was a little more fitting for my current state of mind.
i've discovered my love for classic rock over the past couple weeks. i think i'll write an entire post sharing all my favorite songs, but for now i'll just say this: you can literally feel the emotion pouring out of the artists' heart when listening to a guitar solo, and that right there is something i never wanna stop listening to.
i made a new tumblr that i would like to share with you guys: megan-the-aries.tumblr.com ! i'd love it if you guys would check that out, i still love old fashion blogging, but this tumblr is just a place for me to quickly reblog pictures i like and a place to gather inspiration!
and lastly i would like to share with you guys my youtube channel! i've had this youtube channel for a couple months now and i was a little hesitant to share it at first, but i figured hey, why not. i'm a communications major at an arts academy and my passion is definitely filming and editing mood pieces. i decided to combine my two favorite things-filming & adventuring-to create this outlet for me to share these videos. i only have 5 videos posted as of right now, but i worked really hard on each of them and i feel like these videos give a better visual representation of my life rather than just typing about it.
